How does your author's personal life relate to larger social issues? Is that an essential part of a powerful narrative? Why or why not?
My authors personal life relates to larger social issues because his life was surrounded by poverty and the issue of identity. The ideas that Trevor Noah puts forth are all very relevant to our social issues today. Many people have a problem finding their own identity and understanding who they are and it is exemplified in the book when Trevor describes his childhood and his life and how his race has affected who he is. I believe that the ideas that stem from his personal life and connect to larger social issues are all very essential to the narrative and move the story forward with good development and pacing.
