"Everything in the material world of objects and in the immaterial world of ideas can be tuned out, mocked, or trivialized. Everything we experience through our senses or gain access to with our minds can be dismissed by someone else as boring." (Habits of the Creative Mind, pg 302?) I believe that Richard E. Miller is trying to say that everything is relative and different depending on how you view it. Taking examples from my own experience, videogames is a a great form of entertainment that represents Millers idea. Certain videogames genres like walking simulators that are mainly story driven can be extremely boring to some people while at the same time being immersive and grabbing the attention of others. But Miller says that we all have the potential to make anything interesting if we want to. We can make our own stories about little things and use our own imagination to make something fun and attention grabbing to ourselves. His goal seems to be to make us realize this...

(pg. 2/ par. 9) https://www.alfiekohn.org/article/introduction-look-classroom-essays/ Alfie Kohn is saying that we should make classrooms into more interactive communities rather than just instructing students what to do and giving them tedious work to complete by certain dates. He wants the learning experience to involve a sense of teamwork and collaboration with one another. Instead of just making students feel like they are competing against one another for better grades, learning together brings a more positive experience to the table. Nathan Afaf Jacob
