Why are questions important in college writing

I think that questions are not just important in college writing but they are important in any type of writing. When it comes to even something as simple as a sentence, a questions is always very important to guide what the writer is writing down. Every time there is a prompt to write about, questions are always somehow involved. Even if the prompt doesn’t have a question directly in it, a question will always pop up in the head of the writer when thinking about what to write. Starting with a broad question to get the structure of a paper down is always a good start. Then as you keep on writing, shrinking down the general idea of the question to address more specific topics and questions about the broader idea is always a great idea and helps flesh out the idea that the writer is trying to talk about.
